Moving away from fame game - 2014 Forest Hills Drive

J Cole's latest album  2014 Forest Hills Drive - named after the 29 year-olds childhood home in Fayetteville, North Carolina - is a self described personal statement with no creditable guest features "A lot of my music wasn't written for you. It's for me. I'm allowing you to hear it. It's reading my journal." says Cole. In November he brought back his mothers house after it was lugubriously foreclosed for not meeting mortgage payments; resulting in the family having to leave. Though Cole isn't back for good. He intends for the Fayetteville home to be set up as a Haven. "It'll be a place somebody can come and live rent free, two or three years at a time. I'm imagining a single mother, who can hopefully leave in a better position than when they came." he told the London Evening Standard

No singles were dropped prior to the album release today, Dec 9th. The new LP sees production from Cole himself, along with artists such as !llmind, Phonix Beats, Cardiak, and Vinylz.
