60 East

Born April 1st 1989, the last year the 80s had to offer, Joey Atilno is a product of the Inland Empire but does not limit himself or his music. 60 East became his alias after previously being called the freeway kid for his reputation as a graffiti artist. The 60 freeway as his backyard so access to prime tagging real estate was right in arms reach as far as Krylon cans can spray and cut through the air. When choosing his name he wanted more than a limit to where he was from so he chose 60 East to bridge the gap that the Inland Empire and Los Angeles county have. When listening to 60's music you are forced fed a direct line of information from what his life had once brought and what it is happening today. Besides life being what keeps his creativity flowing, what sparked his interest was family. His older brother as a DJ for a self made record label with an artist by the name of Space Ghost that showed him the ways of the Emcee.

The passion that Space Ghost carried with him was contagious in the eyes of 60. With the murder of Space Ghost and the loss of his father to cancer a year later, 60 had a decision to make. Trouble had his number but by the influences of Space Ghost and his father's hard work ethic and passion, 60 set out to change his life by attending school and going hard with music. With a poetic start as a child in elementary school, heavy influences by friends and family, and the trials and tribulations life has dealt, 60 East plans on continuously mastering his craft.
Ambition is the name of the game and music is the energy that drives him.
