Rakim Mayers, more commonly known by his stage names ASAP Rocky and Lord Flacko is an American Hip Hop artist. He was born and raised in the Harlem neighbourhood of New York City.

ASAP took to the stage yesterday (May 21st) at Brixton's 02 academy as part of his European tour. The crowd was enthusiastic and eager to get started before he was even due to appear. Dressed in all white 'Pyrex' clothing ASAP emerged from backstage and told the crowd he was not here to perform but to in fact throw a party. "I didn't come here to perform tonight, I came here to party!" once the crowd cheered and roared in excitement he continued "I want to see crowd surfing, mosh pitting, bitches with their titties out, and weed smoking up in this bitch" (hmmm!)
He delivered a high octane performance which the crowd appreciated. However, things went downhill when ASAP wasted for what felt like forever trying to find his perfect 'bad bitch' to come on stage and 'twerk' for him. Twerking is a sexually suggestive dance that originated in New Orleans - but probably has its roots in forms of African dance. Although, he tried to hurry things along the crowd became impatient and expressed their feelings by booing. ASAP managed to redeem the situation by swiftly moving on and singing the chorus of 'Fuckin' Problems' Rather than trying to boost his ego, it might have been better if he used that time to fit a few more songs into his set. Despite this, it was a fun and energetic evening with some memorable moments including ASAP himself doing his own crowd surfing.
